DR can be finicky about imported files. I think it's more of a codec issue (h264/265/av1) than the container type (mp4, mkv). I use either Virtual Dub 2 or AVIdemux to quickly transcode the file to something else. FFV1 (lossless) for short clips or h264 for larger clips.

Not a fix. This is a workaround. Huge difference. A fix has to be applied once. A workaround every time.

When I click on "no input" in the mixer and scroll down and click "input..." to select my mic nothing happens. No window pops up. I can open the path settings, which shows me that there is no mic connected. But I can't open the input selection pop up window.
